Nestled in the shadow of the ruin of Barden Tower, the Barden Bunk Barn has been converted from former stables and provisions stores into well appointed group accommodation sleeping up to 24 people. Situated on the Duke of Devonshire's Bolton Abbey Estate in Upper Wharfedale, the whole site, which consists of the ruined Tower, The Priests House restaurant and the bunk barn, is grade 1 listed being one of the most important historically in the Yorkshire Dales. It is an ideal get away to explore the Yorkshire Dales, have a reunion or just relax and chill out with friends. It boasts fantastic views of the valley with superb river and hill walks nearby.
Visitors to the Barn are many and varied ranging from family get togethers, small celebration parties, walking and climbing clubs, schools, scout groups and football team exchanges. Increasingly, corporate clients use the facility as a midweek away day venue, where staff can have some time out, discuss the issues of the day in total privacy, undertake some team building sessions and have a pleasant meal in the evening. Regular clients include ASDA, Real Radio, The North Bar, Direct Line and Sainsburys.
The barn is also ideal for evening receptions and guest accommodation following weddings held at The Priests House. We can also arrange for one of our top local mediums to provide a psychic session in the barn.
Like many similar venues in the Yorkshire Dales, weekends tend to book well in advance, so you will need to plan ahead. Midweek is generally more readily available.
Planning a celebration or special event?
Whether a medieval, wedding reception or birthday party we can decorate the barn accordingly, provide table cloths, candles, glasses, goblets, appropriate crockery etc and even cater for you. Why go to the trouble of doing it all yourself? You are supposed to be enjoying yourselves!
Since 13th October 2009
