Many different type of groups use the barn, whether walkers, cyclists, family get togethers, university reunions or corporate team building events. However the barn is NOT suitable for wild parties and we do not accept unsupervised teenage groups or stag/hen parties.
However we have no problem with the barn being used to celebrate special occasions and for the guests to have a bit of a party. Always best to let us know! For really special events, the barn can be dressed up to add a different feel...
“...this is a proper bunk barn, and is as clean and comfortable as they go...”

The accommodation consists of two original adjoining 16th century storage barns on
one of the most sensitive historic sites in Yorkshire. By virtue of being part of
the curtlage of the adjacent BardenTower, the barn is grade 1 listed. Facilities
include:
In the summer months the outside courtyards are great to sit and relax and there
is no problem bringing a barbecue (providing it is well away from the gas tank!)
Being grade 1 listed, there are certain restrictions imposed on the use and development
of the barn and the external area. As a result no camping, fires or ball games are
allowed. In addition no fireworks can be set off except on bonfire night and New
Years eve.
Please note that the barn is not an open house party venue although we have no problem
with those staying in the barn from letting their hair down. Pre-organised events
such as wedding receptions are welcome
